Cactus / elephantidens

Winter will start tomorrow.
Some of Ariocarpus have still been in flower.
The photo is one of them, a degrafted A. kotschoubeyanus v elephantidens.

Cactus / retusus

A degrafted Ariocarpus retusus was in flower.
It was 1st flowering for the cactus.
As shown on the photo, the cactus is a twin-heads form.
I assume this formation was affected by grafting.

Cactus / furfuraceus

This one is propagated from the seed of cultivar, cauliflower.
Although it reaches to a mature age, it can not show the character of cultivar and so I just call it "furfuraceus".
I think there is enough value to keep.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

A degrafed with a short Pereskiopsis stock Ariocarpus kotshoubeyanus was in flower.
It was degeafted 4 years ago. I assume own-roots have developed.
I will check the roots during the repotting in September.

Cactus / trigonus

Ariocarpus trigonus were in flower.
Flower is yellow and release a very good scent.
They are very similar to A. elongatus.

Cactus / scapharostroides

It was a cloudy day yesterday.
Ariocarpes were hard to open flowers completely.
The photo is A. retusus v scapharostroides.

Cactus / hintonii

An ariocarpus bravoanus v hintonii was in flower.
It was 3rd flowering for the cactus in this autumn.
Since flower remains limit the formation of next buds, you have to remove all flower remains.

Cactus / Seiji

Many Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Daruma Seiji were in flower yesterday.
This cultivar has round tubercles shaped like Daruma and body is Seiji color.
The photo is one of them.

Cactus / bravoanus

Ariocarpus bravoanus were in flower.
These are 2nd flowering in this autumn.
A rat ate buds for the 1st flowering and I could not see any flowers unfortunately.

Cactus / cauliflower

A young Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower has pushed a flowering bud up.
The weather in autumn is unstable and repeating "warm and cool".
It is rain today.
All rain water tanks connected to greenhouses have been filled up.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

An ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus f Rio Verde was in flower.
I degrafted this one in September 2016.
A short Pereskiopsis stock has still been attached and the cactus has relied on the stock.

Cactus / agavoides

Degrafted ariocarpus agavoides were in flower in the afternoon.
Grafted agavoides have short tubercles and they do not change even after degrafted.
These are 2nd flowering in this autumn.

Cactus / fusion

The photo is 2 scions grafted on a Pereskiopsis stock.
Scions are Ariocarpus agavoides and bravoanus v hintonii.
2 scions have been fused.

Cactus / red flowering hanazono kabuto

A 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto was in flower.
2nd filial means (hanazono x red flower) x red flower.
This one is very young, 1 year old and grafted onto a Pereskiopsis stock.
Since it is very young, the character of hanazono has not shown yet.

Cactus / khoyo

It is mid of autumn in here.
A astrophytum myriostigma cv khoyo, kikkou has started turning the body color.
This cultivar turns the body color from autumn to spring similar to autumn leaves.
It returns to normal green in summer.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

An other miracle kabuto was in flower.
This one is the largest miracle kabuto in my place, 18 cm in diameter.

Cactus / cauliflower

A degrafted Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower was in flower.
This is a young cactus, 3 years old, just starting to show cauliflower character.
A short Peleskiopsis stock is remained and the cactus still relies on the stock.

Cactus / Daruma Royal

An ariocarpus retusus v major cv Daruma Royal was in flower.
This is 2nd flowering in this autumn for this cactus.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

It is the mid of autumn.
Some asterias have still been in flower.
The flower of asterias in autumn is small.
The photo is  one of them, a miracle kabuto.

Cactus / bravoanus

A degrafted Ariocarpus bravoanus was in flower.
Bravoanus is a small cactus, just 7 cm in diameter.

Cactus / retusus

An ariocarpus retusus was in flower.
Since the pot was too small and was hard to water, I repotted it 3 months ago.
It is 1st flowering for this cactus.

Cactus / Daruma Seiji

An ariocarpus v furfuraceus cv Daruma Seiji were in flower.
This species has round and seiji color tubercles.

Cactus / Shinkawa Tama Zouge

An ariocarpus retusus cv Shinkawa Tama Zouge was in flower.
This flowering also 2nd flowering in this autumn.
This cultivar has longer tubercles than that of standard one.

Cactus / cauliflower

An ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower was in flower yesterday.
It was 2nd flowering for the cactus in this autumn.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

An ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus f Rio Verde was in flower.
The flower color of form Rio Verde is darker than that of standard one.
Mice ate many kotschoubeyanus' flowers lately.
I assume flowers of kotschoubeyanus are tasty.
