The size is very small, 5.5 cm in diameter.

It seems perals are thinner than that of standard one.
The cactus is a rooted off-set, 8 cm in diameter.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

Cacti make a misjudgement of the season from time to time.
An ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus was in flower.
It is the mid of summer in here. Since ariocarpus are in flower in autumn, the cactus misjudge the season.

Cactus / hanazono kabuto

1st filial (hanazono kabuto x red flowering asterias) was in flower.
The flower colour is not red enough, reddish flower.
It was degrafted and under rooting process.

Cactus / castanea

Two frailea castaneas were in flower yesterday.
They normally do not open flower. Flowering buds turn to fruits directly.
Since yesterday was very hot, they opened flowes, I think.

The flower colour is pink.
This one was propagated form seed harvested by myself from my cactus.
I am not sure the reason of "pink" colour.

I sowed seeds harvested from this one last year. They are very small and grow very slowly.

I got seeds from my friend and the history of seeds is unknown.
Cacti propagated from the seeds show various forms.
This one shows the character of ornatum.

An echinocactus horizonthalonius v moelleri was in flower.
I bought seeds and sowed in 2006.
Var moelleri has short spines.

Cactus / super kabuto

Many asterias were in flower yesterday.
Asterias are in flower several times between spring and autumn.
They all are in flower same day as like communicate each other "Let's start".

Cactus / myriostigma

An astrophytum myriostigma was in flower yesterday.
It was 1st flowering for the cactus.
The myristigma has 3 ribs.
The body shape is very stable and no change of rib numbers at all but the growing speed is very slow by unkown reason.

4 red flowering asterias were in flower yesterday.
The photo is on of them.
Since this cactus is mixed hanazono gene, one of flowers comes out from the bottom of ribs.

It is a matured age cactus and the flower comes out form a rib bottom.
The is a character of "hanazono".
The current size is 15 cm in diameter.

A thelocactus heterochromus was in flower.
This species was popular some years ago but it is not anymore.
The flower of thelocactus is large and attractive.

Cactus / hintonii

An aztekium hintonii was in flower yesterday.
It is 2nd flowering in this season for the cactus.
The cactus was degrafted and rooted.
The rooting of Aztekium is not easy normally but it could make.

Although this miracle kabuto has reached to a flowering age, it is still young.
Seed was sown in 2012.
The current size is 8 cm in diameter.
The cactus shows a typical miracle character.

Since seedlings of aselliformis are very thin, grafting and degrafting can make these shape of plants.

The rooting of Pelecyphora is not difficult.

A trial 1st filial hybrid was in flower.
I try to create a red flowering capricorne.
The hybrid cactus is capricorne x red flowering asterias.
I think the flower is red enough but the body is not capricorn.
I need more study.

One of fused cacti was in flower.
It is Astrophytum asterias cv miracle kabuto and Ariocarpus fissuratus.
Since it is spring now, the miracle kabuto was in flower.
I assume fissuratus will be in flower in autumn.

I believe the flower is true red.
The character of hanazono has just started to be shown.

This cactus was weak for a while and it could not make so many flowers.
It seems the condition of the cactus has been recovered.

The germination rate of horizonthalonius' seed is quite poor nornally.
As shown on the photo, the flower is quite large.

They were rooted off-sets taken from the grafted mother plant.
The rooting of herrerae is not difficult.

Since this one is mixed the gene of red flowering asterias, the colour of flower is special.
The body is quite small, just 5 cm in diameter.

I sowed seed in 2012.
The current size is 7 cm in diameter.
The cactus has started to show the character of "miracle kabuto".

Cactus / fukuryu hannya

An astrophytum hybrid, fukuryu hannya was in flower.
Although the character of ornaum is appeared strongly, the gene of myriostigma is also mixed.
Since this one comes out from seeds given by my friend, the history is unknown.

Red floweing asterias in my place tend to be a small body.
I will try to gain body size someday.

It is 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto.
The flower is not red enough and also not showing the character of hanazono yet unfortunately.
The current name is reddish flowering asterias from the above reason.

Cactus / aselliformis

Many Pelecyphora aselliformis were in flower.
Since seedlings of aselliformis are hard to turn thick body, I graft them and make thick body brfore degrafting.
Rooting of aselliformis is very easy.
All of aselliformis on the photo are made by the above mentioned method.

Cactus / humbolditii

A mammillaria humbolditii v caespitosa was in flower.
I once increased number of mammillaria species but they were decreased gradually.
I bought seeds and sowed in 2004.
It has been remaind just one plant of this species.

Cactus / hintonii

An aztekium hintonii was in flower yesterday afternoon.
It is almost 5 years old and is 1st flowering for the cactus.
A 10 mm off-set was grafted on Pereskiopsis stock in 2015.
In 2017, the scion was degrafted and rooted.
The current size is 70 mm in diameter.
