Cactus / asterias

The photo is my oldest asterias, 15 years old.
It shows a matured appearance and turns to a multi-ribs form.
The size is 18 cm in diameter.

Cactus / hanazono kabuto

The photo is an Astrophytum asterias cv hanazono kabuto.
I bought seeds and sowed in 2005, means 13 years old.
When a hanazono kabuto was grafted, the character of hanazono is exaggerated.
This one has never been grafted and so the appearance should be natural one.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

The photo is an Astrophytum hybrid.
My friend gave me seeds, Astrophytum hybrid fukuryu and I propagated.
All others are fukuryu but only this one does not show the character of fukuryu.
I assume the gene of khoyou is mixed in because the body colour turns in season.
The current colour is for winter and spring.
The body returns to green in summer.
I have not seen flowers yet.

Cactus / super kabuto

The photo is a super kabuto reaching a mature age.
It is a super kabuto but I mixed in the gene of hanazono kabuto by myself.
The original number of ribs is 7 ribs which is abnormal for asterias but it has started to turn 11 ribs.
The character of hanazono has also started to show.
