Cactus / loricatum

 A gymnocalyciom spegazzinii v loricatum was in flower.

I bought seeds in 2003 and sowed.

I sowed many gymnocaly seeds in same year but lost seedlings gradually.

The photo is one of remained ones. This var has short spines.

Cactus / strobiliformis

 A degrafted and rooted Pelecyphra strobiliformis was in flower.

Since it was grafted once, the body shows woolly appearence.

The rooting of this species is relatively easy.

Cactus / Onzuka

 A degrafted astrophytum myriostigma cv Onzuka was in flower in the afternoon.

Since seedlings of Onzuka grow as elongated form, I grafted/degrafted to minimize this problem.

The cactus on the photo is 10 cm in diameter.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

This one is also Astrophytum hybrid, capricorne x red flowering asterias.

Currently 11 plants have been alive. The photo is one of them.

I tried to create a "capricorne body with red flower" but the body is similar to asterias.

Cactus / dasyacanthus

 My main collection is Noth American cacti but I do not keep so may Echinocereus species.

An echinocereus pectinatus v dasyacanthus was in flower.

E. pectinatus has very large flowers.

Cactus / super kabuto

 An old super kabuto was in flower yesterday.

This one has shown the character of "kikkou" also.

When the cactus was young, it did not show the kikkou.

I have never crossed super x kikkou and so I amnot sure why.

Cactus / ambatoense

 A gymnocalycium ambatoense was in flower.

I bought several small plants in 2003.

They have been alive. The photo is one of them, 15 cm tall.

Cactus / super kabuto

 Although it is mid of October, weather is unstable and is not warm enough.

A super kabuto was in flower in the afternoon.

It is propagated frm seed and is 15 cm in diameter currenyly.
