Many Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus were in flower yesterday afternoon.
They were degrafted with a short Pereskiopsis stocks 4 years ago.
I have not checked roots yet but I assume stocks died and own roots have started to develop.
hello from washington dc. what length is pereskiopsis stock that gets buried? do you root the stock before you bury? i hear about doing this but need details. wish we were neighbors!
Prepare a pot filled in potting-mix and water at first. Cut stock, length around 30 mm from the scion. Measure length of the stock and re-cut at 20 mm from the scion by a knife. Insert the stock into the wet potting-mix immediately without drying. You should dry the short stock. The stock buried in potting-mix will root soon without rotting.
This is just incredible! You water from below it seems. How often and in what amount if I may ask?
ReplyDeleteG'morning Cactuscult,
ReplyDeleteI do not feed water from below.
I feed water from top, between plant and pot one by one, not from top of plant.
I feed water every 2 weeks, until water running down from bottom of pot.
Frank
Thanks for the quick reply! The green trays made me assume this.
