This cactus is relatively old.
I bought seed and sowed in 2004.
A young seedling was grafted onto a Hylocereus stock in same year.
The scion was degrafted in 2007.
The body has turned to a large lump.
Hi dear Frank! Today I received my astrophytum Superkabuto but the stock was completely rotten! It affect the scion also slightly! I separated ompletely from its stock! Is it possible for superkabuto to makes root again? The stock was Hylocereus!
Very impressive Frank. Has it formed a tap root over all this time on own roots?
ReplyDeleteNo it has not, thin roots only.

It is possible to root a superkabuto. The vascular bundle of hylocereus may be remained in the superkabuto and you have to remove it completely.
