Cactus / castanea

Two frailea castaneas were in flower yesterday.
They normally do not open flower. Flowering buds turn to fruits directly.
Since yesterday was very hot, they opened flowes, I think.
The photo is one of them.

Cactus / super kabuto

A super kabuto was in flower.
The flower colour is pink.
This one was propagated form seed harvested by myself from my cactus.
I am not sure the reason of "pink" colour.

Cactus / disciformis

A strombocactus disciformis was i flower.
I have two flowering size cacti and the photo is one of them.
I sowed seeds harvested from this one last year. They are very small and grow very slowly.

Cactus / fukuryu hannya

An astrophytum hybrid, fukuryu hannya was in flower.
I got seeds from my friend and the history of seeds is unknown.
Cacti propagated from the seeds show various forms.
This one shows the character of ornatum.

Cactus / horizonthalonius

An echinocactus horizonthalonius v moelleri was in flower.
I bought seeds and sowed in 2006.
Var moelleri has short spines.

Cactus / super kabuto

Many asterias were in flower yesterday.
Asterias are in flower several times between spring and autumn.
They all are in flower same day as like communicate each other "Let's start".
The photo is one of them, a super kabuto.

Cactus / myriostigma

An astrophytum myriostigma was in flower yesterday.
It was 1st flowering for the cactus.
The myristigma has 3 ribs.
The body shape is very stable and no change of rib numbers at all but the growing speed is very slow by unkown reason.
