Cactus / cauliflower

I have tried various propagating methods for cactus.
The photo is Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower.
The plant is 10 cm diameter and starting to show the character of cultivar.
I sowed seeds on 02/10/ 2010 and grafted young seedlings on Pereskiopsis stocks.
I degrafted with a short stock, 15 mm in spring 2012.
12 scions were set as same and waiting the development of roots.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

The photo is a miracle kabuto seedling, sown seeds on 08/10/2011.
I did the 1st selection and cut tap-roots in August 2013 when the seedling was 2 years old.
This is one of selected seedlings, good ones.
The rooting has been completed successfully and the plant has started to show the character of miracle kabuto. The current size is 35 mm.

Cactus / denegrii

This Obregonia denegrii is also grafted on a Pereskiopsis stock.
I sowed seeds on 13/11/2012 and grafted 2 dozens of young seedlings.
This one has not reached to 2 years old yet.
2 dozens, all of them were in flower in this year.

Cactus / grafted agavoides

I sowed seeds collected from my plants on 23/ 09/2011.
One dozen of very young seedlings were grafted on Pereskiopsis stocks.
The photo is one of them, 2 years old.
Since daylight time has been shorter, the plant lifts several buds up but they may not be opened because the temperature of outside is very high, 41 'C.
Tubercles of agavoides are very short when it was grafted.

Cactus / asterias

Hot days have come back.
It was 42 C' yesterday. Similar days will continue a while.
An Astrophytum asterias was in flower yesterday but these flowers were bit small.
It is the evidence that the autumn will be soon.

Cactus / asterias cultivar

I am not sure how many forms were mix in this cultivar.
The character of the cultivar is fine white flecking and very flat body shape.
The plant starts to show a mature aged appearance.

Cactus / variegated asterias

The forecast maximum temperature of today is 40 C'.
The variegated cactus are weaker against to strong sunlight compared to normal ones.
I hope this one could spend through a day without any sunburn.
