Cactus / ornatum

 A gymnocalycium spegazzinii v ornatum was in flower yesterday afternoon.

I bought seeds and sowed in 2004. Several plants have survived.

The current size is 15 cm in diameter.

Cactus / moelleri

 An echinocactus horizonthalonius v moelleri was in flower yesterday afternoon.

This means summer will be soon.

This year is very dry. The total rainfall in October is just 11.4mm so far.

Cactus / fukuryu hannya

 An astrophytum hybrid, fukuryu hannya was in flower yesterday afternoon.

My friend gave me seeds and I sowed in 2012. The history of seeds was unknown.

Seedlings showed various forms. One of them had spines which is on this photo.

Cactus / dasyacanthus

 An echinocereus pectinatus v dasyacanthus was in flower yesterday.

Since the cactus is too tall, it can not stand by itself. I use a support.

I lost many echinocereus species. Only two plants have survived including this one.

Cactus / fukuryu banjyaku

 An astrophytum hybrid, fukuryu banjyaku was in flower.

This was 1st flowering in this spring among fukuryu banjyakus.

I got seeds and sowed in 2012. The cactus is in 12.5 cm square pot.

Cactus / aselliformis

 Pelecyphora aselliformis were in flower yesterday afternoon.

It was the 2nd flowering in this spring for all of them.

They are rooted off-sets and are in 8.5 cm square pots. Rooting of Pelecyphora is not difficult.

Cactus / loricatum

 A gymnocalycium spegazzinii v loricatum was in flower yesterday afternoon.

I bought seeds and sowed in 2003.   Several plants have servived.

This is the smallst one of same species. The current size is 12 cm in diameter.

Cactus / micromeris

 An epithelantha micromeris v neomexicana was in flower yesterday afternoon.

I got seeds and sowed in 2006.  Several plants have survived,

Flowers of epithelantha are very small.

Cactus / disciformis

 Young degrafted Strombocactus disciformis were in flower yesterday.

Short pereskiopsis stocks have still been attached and buried in potting-mix.

The appearance of bodies are different slightly from own-rooted plant.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

 The photo is a 1st filial  Astrophytum hybrid, capricorne x red flowering asterias which was created by myself.

I tried to make a capricorne body with red flowers but I could not see any spines on the body.

I made 12 plants and all of them are similar appearances.

Cactus / myriostigma

 An astrophytum myriostigma was in flower yesterday. It was 2nd flowering in this spring.

The cactus was cut bottom off and rerooted 2 years ago.

The cactus has recovered well and is in flower.

Cactus / heterochromus

 Two thelocactus heterochromus f longispinus were in flower yesterday. The photo is one of them.

I bought seeds and sowed in 2006. 6 plants have survived.

The current size is 15  cm in diameter.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

 The cactus shown on the photo is also an Astrophytum hybrid which is senile x super kabuto.

This 1st filial hybrid is also created by myself.

The cactus is 14 cm in diameter and 14 cm tall.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

 1st filial Astrophytum hybrid, coahuilense x super kabuto was in flower yesterday.

The hybrid was created by myself.

The cactus shows an abnormal flowering formation as an astrophytum species, which is clusterd flowering.

Cactus / super kabuto

 A matured Astrophytum asterias cv super kabuto was in flower yesterday.

The cactus was a normal super kabuto but it started to show the hanazono character from this year.

It seems the cactus can not open flowers completely physically.

Cactus / hintonii

 An aztekium hintonii was in flower yesterday afternoon.

This one was grafted once but the scion was degrafted/rooted when the scion reached to 3cm in diameter.

 It was the 1st flowering for the cactus. The rooting of hintonii is not easy but I got 5 successful results.

Cactus / ambatoense

 A gymnocalycium ambatoense was in flower yesterday.

I bought small plants in 2003. 3 plants have survived.

They all have pushed flowering buds up but just one was in flower.

Cactus / strobiliformis

 A pelecyphora strobiliformis was in flower yesterday afternoon.

The cactus is a degrafted scion which relies on own-roots currently.

Strobiliformis on the photo is a small cactus, 8 cm in diameter.
