A 1st filial astrophytum hybrid, coahuilense x super kabuto was in flower in this morning.
I also made 2nd filial hybrids. They have denser flecking but their bodies are smaller.
Becaue of the above reason, I stopped further development.

It will be 38 'C in this afternoon. It is late summer in here.
An ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower was in flower yesterday afternoon.
Retusus related species are normally in flower late autum in here but it was not.
I found two Ariocarpus fissuratus f Big Bend were in flower yesterday afternoon. I bought seeds and sowed in 2003.
It is late summer in here and hot days have been continued.
It seems they know daylight time has been shorter. The photo is one of them.
Summer will be finished soon but autumn has not come yet.
I can not see so many cacti flowers now.
Just one cactus was in flower in this morning, which was a hybrid, Turbinicarpus alonsoi x Strombocactus disciformis.
I grafted 6 seedlings in this morning. 48 seedlings were grafted in this season in total.
Seedlings were Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower. Stocks were Pereskiopsis.
The photo shows some seedlings before grafting. I can graft if seedlings were more than 2mm in diameter.
A matured Astrophytum myriostigma was in flower.
This one lotted bottom part two years ago and I cut bottom part off completely and rerooted.
As you can see, the cactus is rerooted and healthy.
Several astrophytum coahuilense were in flower yesterday afternoon.
The photo is one of them. I bought 8 small plants in 2003. I lost just one of them, all others have survived.
The cactus has grown well, 15 cm in diameter and 20 cm tall.
Several astrophytum asterias cv super kabutos were in flower. The attached photo is one of them.
The body shape is a typical starfish. Both of density and size of flecking show as "a good super kabuto."
Standard super kabuto is around 10~12 mm in diameter but this one is 15 cm in diameter.
Two aztekium ritteri were in flower yesterday. The photo is one of them.
They were degrafted and rooted with short pereskiopsis stocks. They rely on short stocks.
Since I made own-rooting failure of this species many times, I use this method.
The cactus on photo is an Astrophytum asterias.
It is quite old. I bought seeds and sowed in 2003. The current size is 14 cm in diameter.
It was a normal asterias when the cactus was young but the cactus sarted to show the character of hanazono when it reached to a mature age.
An astrophytum hybrid, hakujo fukuryu banjyaku was in flower.
One of my friends gave me seeds and I sowed in 2012.
Banjyaku is a hybrid, myriostigma x ornatum.
