Cactus / heptacanthus

Two discocactus heptacanthus v griseus were in flower.
I took their photos early in this morning.
The attached photo is one of them.

4 red flowering asterias were in flower yesterday.
The photo is on of them.
Since this cactus is mixed hanazono gene, one of flowers comes out from the bottom of ribs.

Cactus / super kabuto

A super kabuto was in flower.
It is a matured age cactus and the flower comes out form a rib bottom.
The is a character of "hanazono".
The current size is 15 cm in diameter.

Cactus / heterochromus

A thelocactus heterochromus was in flower.
This species was popular some years ago but it is not anymore.
The flower of thelocactus is large and attractive.

Cactus / hintonii

An aztekium hintonii was in flower yesterday.
It is 2nd flowering in this season for the cactus.
The cactus was degrafted and rooted.
The rooting of Aztekium is not easy normally but it could make.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

Although this miracle kabuto has reached to a flowering age, it is still young.
Seed was sown in 2012.
The current size is 8 cm in diameter.
The cactus shows a typical miracle character.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

Some astrophytum asterias cv miracle kabutos were in flower.
The photo is one ofthem.
I pollinated with another miracle kabutos because a my friend wanted to get seeds.

Cactus / Onzuka

An astrophytum myriostigma cv Onzuka was in flower.
This one was grafted once and degrafted/rooted later.
The current size is 9 cm in diameter.

Cactus / hanazono kabuto

An astrophytum asterias cv hanazono kabuto was in flower.
This one shows a typical character of the "Hanazono".
The current size is 16 cm in diameter.

Cactus / super kabuto

Yesterday was hot.
The temperature in the afternoon reached to 42 'C.
Astrophytum asteruas like hot climate and were in flower yesterday.
The photo is one of them, a super kabuto.

Cactus / aselliformis

Pelecyphora aselliformis were also in flower.
All of them were degrafted and rooted plants.
Since seedlings of aselliformis are very thin, grafting and degrafting can make these shape of plants.

Cactus / strobiliformis

A pelecyphora strobiliformis was in flower.
The cactus was a degrafted and rooted scion years ago.
The rooting of Pelecyphora is not difficult.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

A trial 1st filial hybrid was in flower.
I try to create a red flowering capricorne.
The hybrid cactus is capricorne x red flowering asterias.
I think the flower is red enough but the body is not capricorn.
I need more study.

Cactus / fused cacti

One of fused cacti was in flower.
It is Astrophytum asterias cv miracle kabuto and Ariocarpus fissuratus.
Since it is spring now, the miracle kabuto was in flower.
I assume fissuratus will be in flower in autumn.

Cactus / hanazono kabuto

Many asterias were in flower.
The attached photo is one of them, a hanazono kabuto.
I bought seed and sowed in 2004.
The cactus is a matured age and shows a typical hanazono character.

Cactus / aselliformis

Pelecyphora aselliformis are in flower repeatedly between spring and autumn.
2 aselliformis were in flower.
The photo is one of them. The cactus is a  rooted off-set.

Cactus / horizonthalonius

An echinocactus horizonthalonius was in flower.
It is the oldest horizonthalonius in my place.
Since the cactus are propagated in greenhouse, spines are poor.

A my trial asterias cultivar, 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto was in flower.
I believe the flower is true red.
The character of hanazono has just started to be shown.

Cactus / hanazono kabuto

An astrophytum asterias cv hanazono kabuto was in flower.
This cactus was weak for a while and it could not make so many flowers.
It seems the condition of the cactus has been recovered.

The temperature in greenhouse reached to 50 'C yesterday afternoon.
Many asterias were in flower.
