An astrophytum capricorne was in flower.
This is a small plant, just 6 cm in diameter.
The flower colour is not standard.
The flower of standard capricorne is yellow but this one is reddish.

Cactus / miracle kabutos

Miracle kabuto grow slowly but they will be tight against to pots in some years.
It is the season of repotting for these seedlings.
The photo is young miracle kabutos, sown seeds in 2012 and 2013.
I have continued repotting them.

Their growing speed is quite slow compared to other asterias.

An astrophytum asterias cv hanazono super kabuto was in flower.
I added the character of hanazon on the super kabuto by myself.

Cactus / asterias monstorous form

An asterias cv red flowering hanazono kabuto turned to a monstorous form when it was grafted.
I degrafted it in September.
I thought the monstorous form could not make any flowers but it was in flower.

The photo is the largest and oldest miracle kabuto which was in flower yesterday.
Seed was sown in 2004.
The current size is 19 cm in diameter, expecting to reach 20 cm soon.
The flower is very small by unknown reason.

The flower of this species is very large.
This species was very popular in Japan as "Beni Taka" years ago.

A 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto was in flower yesterday.
It was degrafted lately and jut about developing roots.

Cactus / myriostigma related species

Astrophytum myriostigma related species were in flower in the afternoon yesterday.
They were degrafted in this spring and are just about developing roots, I assume.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

A miracle kabuto was in flower.
This one shows a typical flecking pattern of miracle and the shape is starfish.
The size is 13 cm in diameter.

Cactus / hanazono kabuto

An hanazono kabuto was in flower.
This one experienced various growing problems since it was a small plant.
Because of that, the shape of body is not so good.
It has been able to survive and been in flower.

Cactus / myriostigma

A matured Astrophytum myriostigma was in flower.
I bought seeds as fukuryu rampo and sowed in 2003.
The cactus has never shown the character of "fukuryu".

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

An astrophytum hybrid, fukuryu banjyaku x myriostigam cv kikkou was in flower.
It has not been shown the character of kikkou yet.
The cactus was degrafted lately, 2 years old.

Cactus / super kabuto

A matured super kabuto was in flower.
It is around 9 cm in diameter.
It seems this one gains no longer the body size.

Cactus / ritteri

An aztekium ritteri was in flower.
This one was degrafted with a short Pereskiopsis stock, and rooted.
I have never gotten any successful own-rooting result of A. ritteri.

Cactus / Onzuka

The maximum temperature reached to 30 'C today.
It was 42 'C in the greenhouse in the afternoon.
Some A. myriostigma related species were in flower.
The photo is an A. myriostigma cv Onzuka.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

An astrophytum hybrid, senil x super kabuto was in flower.
The diameter of the cactus is around 15 cm.
The hybridisation makes a small body size normally but it does not.
