Cactus Daruma Royal

4 of Ariocarpus retusus v major cv Daruma Royal were in flower yesterday afternoon.
They were degrafted in September 2006 with short stocks.
They all are 3 years old.

Cactus / trigonus

3 young Ariocarpus trigonus were in flower yesterday.
They were all degrafted and attached short Pereskiopsis stockes.

Cactus / intermedius

A degrafted Ariocarpus fissuratus v intermedius was in flower.
I keep 24 of this species, degrafted same time.

Cactus / fissuratus

4 of Ariocarpus fissuratus were in flower.
I sowed seeds in 2007.
They are propagated without grafting.

Cactus / agavoides

Grafted ariocarpus agavoides are in flower in quite young age.
If you grafted a young seedling in spring, it will be in flower in autumn, 8 months after the grafting.
The photo is grafted agavoides, 1 year old.
Stocks are Peleskiopsis.

Cactus / Daruma Seiji

The weather in autumn is unstable.
This triggers multiple times flowering of Ariocarpus in a season.
The photo is an A. retusus v furfuraceus cv Daruma Seiji.
This is 2nd flowering in this autumn.

Cactus / fusion

This is an other "fusion",  Astrophytum myriostigma cv Onzuka and Ariocarpus retusus cv Shinkawa Tama zouge.
They have been jointed well and growing with a good speed.

Cactus / cauliflower

A very young grafted Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower was in flower in the afternoon.
Although it is just 1 year old, it has shown a good evidence of "cauliflower".

A degrafted Ariocarpus retusus v bicolor was in flower.
I bought seeds and sowed in 2006.
Young seedlings were grafted in same year.
This one was degrafted and rooted last September.

Cactus / red flowering asterias

It is autumn but some asterias still are in flower.
The photo is 2nd filial red flowering hanazono kabuto which is (hanazono kabuto x red flowering asterias) x red flowering asterias.
I can achieve my target when this one started to show the character of hanazono kabuto.

A short stock has still attached and has been buried in soil.

It has reached to a mature age, 15 cm in diameter.

A degrafted Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Daruma Seiji was in flower.
The color of flowers on 1st opening day was pure white.
It turned to pinkish gradually.

Cactus / cauliflower

An ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower was in flower.
I keep several of this species but this one shows the character of cultivar quite well.
I did the pollination yesterday.

Cactus / Daruma Royal

A degrafted Ariocarpus retusus v major cv Daruma Royal was in flower.
Since the cactus was grafted once, the plant is quite large and attached an off-set also.
This cultivar has round tubercles.

Cactus / retusus

A degrafted Ariocarpus retusus v major cv Shinkawa Tama Zouge was in flower.
This cultivar has longer tubercles than those of  standard form.
The size is 20 cm in diameter.

Cactus / elephantideus

A degrafted Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus v elephantideus was in flower.
This species has larger tubercles and darker flowers than those of standard one.
