Cactus / seedling grafting

I graft young seedlings onto Pereskiopsis stocks every year.
124 seedlings have been grafted in this season.
They will be degrafted in September 2018.

Cactus / asterias seedlings

I sow seeds of asterias every year.
Numbers of seedling have been built up because of that.
I have 150 of miracle kabuto seedlings, sown seeds in 2012.
They have started to show the character of "miracle".
Each seedling is in a 5 cm square tube.

It was a very hot Christmas day yesterday.
The temperature reached to 41 'C.
A super kabuto was in flower.

An oibo ruri kabuto was in flower.
The body color should be blueish green which is ruri-color but it is quite pale actually.

The size is 17 cm in diameter, a typical starfish shape.

Cactus / mexicana

A Geohintonia mexicana was in flower in the afternoon.
This is the 1st flowering of G. mexicana in my place.
I bought seeds and grafted 6 young seedlings in 2006.
They grew well but it was hard to form flowers by unknown reasons.
I grafted several off-sets in 2012. They were degrafted 2014.
The photo is one of them.

Cactus / alonsoi

Turbinicarpus are small cacti.
The photo is an alonsoi, accommodated in a 5 cm square tube.
This means the cactus is less then 5 cm in diameter and in flower.

I assume this is a standard form of Astrophytum capricorne.

A degrafted Astrophytum fukuryu hakujyo banjyaku was in flower.
Banjyaku is a hybrid, ornatum x myriostigma.
It is 2 years old own-rooted.

The photo is an Astrophytum red flowering asterias.
I bought seeds and sowed in 2007.
The body is quite small, in a 5 cm square tube.
I assume the frequent crossings affect on the body size.

Cactus / grafted seedlings

I graft cacti seedlings every year.
Stocks are Pereskiopsis.
Since 18 of seedlings grafting process was completed in this morning, I repotted them.
Scions are Ariocarpus species.
