An Ariocarpus fissuratus f Big Bend was in flower yesterday.
It was 2nd flowering in this season.
Autumn will be very soon.

Cactus / Onzuka

An degrafted Astrophytum myriostigma cv Onzuka was in flower yesterday.
A short Pereskiopsis stock has still attached and buried in the potting-mix.
The cactus relies on the stock and is 3 years old, 8 cm in diameter.

Cactus / denegrii

An Obregonia denegrii was in flower yesterday.
Obregonia is also slow growing cactus.
I sowed seeds in 2009.
The body is 8 cm in diameter.

Cactus / hintonii

An Ariocarpus bravoanus v hintonii was in flower in the afternoon.
This one was degrafted with a short Pereskiopsis stock, 15 mm last year.
I assume the cactus has still relied on the stock.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

Another Japanese cultivar, a miracle kabuto was also in flower.
I sowed seed in 2006.
The body is 13 cm in diameter currently.

Cactus / super kabuto

A hot summer day returned today.
A few asterias were in flower today.
The photo is one of them, super kabuto.
I pollinated this one to an other.

A Pelecyphora strobiliformis was in flower.
I think it is the last flowering in this season.
This one was an off-set and rooted by myself.

A grafted Ariocarpus retusus v bicolor was in flower.
I think it is a bit early for Ariocarpus flowering which is in autumn.
Recent temperature fluctuation may affect on the flowering.

A grafted Ariocarpus fissuratus v intrmedius was in flower.
I grafted 1 month old seedling onto Pereskiopsis stock.
The scion has still been very young, just 1 year old.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

Ariocarpus have stared to be in flower.
The photo is on e of them, kotschoubeyanus f RioVerde.
The form Rio Verde has darker flower color than that of standard one.

Cactus / red flowering asterias

A small red flowering asterias was in flower.
I sowed seeds in 2011.
It seems the small body size is in relation to gene issue and is no chance to grow larger.

Cactus / horstii

Grafted Discocactus horstii were in flower in a same night.
They are in flower several times between spring and autumn.
They also are in flower all together every time.
The scent of flower is hard to describe but it is very nice.

Cactus / alonsoi

Several degrafted Turbinicarpus alonsois were in flower.
Normal alonsoi is a small plant but it will grow a large size if you grafted it.
The photo is one of them, crested twin heads.

Cactus / fissuratus

A fissuratus f Big Bend was in flower yesterday.
It was grafted on a Hylocereus stock and degrafted with a short vascular bundle of the stock.
The vascular bundle has died and own-roots have developed.

Cactus / hintonii

Although February is the last month in summer in here, Ariocarpus have started to be in flower.
Ariocarpus are in flower in autumn normally.
The photo is a grafted Ariocarpus bravoanus v hintonii.

A ferocactus was in flower yesterday.
I bought cactus mix-seeds and sowed in 2000.
The name of species is unknown because of that.
This one is in outdoor and fits well with the environment in here, 40 cm in diameter.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

An other miracle kabuto was in flower yesterday.
This one has a good body shape and good flecking pattern.
I used this one as a seed collecting parent of miracle kabuto.

An oldest asterias in my place was in flower yesterday.
I sowed seed in 2000.
The plant has turned to a multiple ribs form and shows a mature age appearance perfectly.

A variegated cactus is weak and grows slowly normally.
This asterias also grows very slowly.

This miracle kabuto was also in flower.
It is a dusty place in here. Very fine clay dust comes into the greenhouse and makes stain over white flecking.
