Cactus / retusus

2 grafted Ariocarpus retusus v bicolor n prov KMR61 were in flower this afternoon.
I did cross pollination.
I bought seeds and sowed on 31/08/2006.
Several seedlings were grafted.
The photo is one of them.
Although it was late summer and Ariocarpus started to be in flower, the thermometer in the greenhouse showed 46 C'.

Cactus / hintonii

3 gtafted Ariocarpus bravoanus v hintoniis were in flower yester day.
I collected seeds from my plants and sowed on 30/09/2006.
Some of seedings were grafted.
The photo is one of them.
I did the cross pollination yesterday.

Cactus / fissuratus

Autumn?
One of Ariocarpus fissuratus f Big Bend pushed flowering buds in this morning.
Ariocarpus are in flower in autumn.
February is still in summer on the southern hemisphere.
I think this one detected autumn earlier and moved quickly.
I bought seeds and sowed on 31/10/2003.
I grafted seedlings and degrafted later.

Cactus / heterochromus

A Thelocactus heterochromus f longispinus was in flower again yesrday.
This one was grafted when it was very young seedling and degrafted later.
The flower of Thelocactus is quite large.

Cactus / horstii

8 grafted Discocactus horstiis were in flower yesterday morning.
The greenhouse was filled up with a sweet scent.
I have tried to increase quantity of own root seedlings but it has not worked well.
I need more study.

Cactus / kabuto

One more asterias, flat body with larger areoles was in flower.
This is a matured plant but it is still changing the body appearance continuously.

Cactus / super kabuto

This super kabuto was also in flower.
I am not sure the exact reason but many kabutos were in flower on a same day.

Cactus / variegated asterias

Quite many asterias were in flower yeserday.
This is one of them, a variegated own roots asterias.

Cactus alonsoi

Turbinicarpus alonsoi is in flowers many times between spring and autumn.
Since autumn is very soon, the size of flower becomes smaller.

Cactus / denegrii

Obregonia denegrii is a slow growing cactus.
I bought seeds O. denegrii f San Vincente and sowed on 28/09/2005.
The photo is one of seedlings, just 7cm diameter.

Cactus / schwarzii

Turbincarpus schmiedickeanus v schwarzii is a small plant.
I collected seeds from my own plants and sowed on 21/01/2007.
I have not looked after them so well but some seedlings have grown nicely.
