Cactus / trigonus

 An ariocarpus trigonus was in flower yesterday.

The cactus was grafted once and degrafted later. Since the cactus was grafted once, it has one off-set.

The cactus is in a 15 cm pot.

Cactus / super kabuto

 I removed shadecloth covered over the greenhouse lately. Sunlight strenght has recoverd slightly and some flowers of Astrophytum species have come back.

The photo is one of them, asterias cv super kabuto.

The cactus is a matured age, 14 cm in diametsr.

Cactus / Ariocarpus hybrid

 My friend gave me some seeds and I sowed the seeds in 2018. Just 3 were germinated. Seed tag said "cauliflower".

To see earlier result, seedlings were grafted and degrafted in 2020.

Unfortunarely cacti do not show the character of cauliflower and flower colour is abnormal.

Cactus / Daruma Royal

 An ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Daruma Royal was in flower yesterday.

The cactus has wide tubercles without areoles which is the character of this cultivar.

This cactus has reached to flowering age without grafting.

Cactus / intermedius

 I bought seeds of ariocarpus fissuratus v intermedius and sowed in 2005.

Unfortunately just one original plant has survived but I have kept 15 descendants which are flowering age.

The attached photo is one of descendants.

Cactus / jarmilae

 An ariocarpus retusus v jarmilae was in flower yesterday.

Since retusus including variants are very similar, I refer to the name tag of seeds.

I bought seeds and sowed in 2006.

Cactus / retusus

 Several ariocarpus retusus were in flower yesterday afternon.

The photo is one of them, a degrafted one.

Since the cactus was grafted once, it has been a multi-headed form.

Cactus / fissuratus

 Some ariocarpus fissuratus were in flower yesterday. I do not know the reason but same species open flowers on same day.

The photo is one of them.

It is single head form but quite large, 15 cm in diameter.

Cactus / bicolor

 Ariocarpus retusus related species have started to be in flower.

The photo is one of them, retusus v bicolor.

Flower of standard retusus is white but this flower has a hint of red.

Cactus / fissuratus

 A degrafted Ariocarpus fissuratus f Big Bend was in flower yesterday afternoon.

I bought seeds and sowed in 2003. A young seedling was grafted and degrafted later.

This is the largest fissuratus in my place, 21 cm in diametsr.

Cactus / coahuilense

 Autumn flower has been but summer flower also has remained.

An astrophytum coahuilense was in flower yesterday afternoon.

A coahuilense can tolerate with vaious enviroment and easy to grow.

Cactus / godzilla

 Two ariocarpus fissuratus cv godzilla were in flower in this morning. The photo is one of them.

My freind gave me some seeds several years ago and I grafted seedlings onto Pereskiopsis stocks.

Grafted godzilla grow very quickly. They reach to flowering size in two years.

Cactus / denegrii

 An obregonia denegrii was in flower yesterday.

It is in the begining of autumn which means it was late flowering for obregonia.

Obregonia grows very slowly. The current size is 8 cm in diameter.

Cactus / hintonii

 A degrafted Ariocarpus bravoanus v hintonii was in flower yesterday afternoon.

The flowering of Ariocarpus is one of evidences of autumn.

Although the cactus was grafted once,  the body is quite small, in a 6.5 cm square pot.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

 An astrophytum hybrid, hakujo fukuryu banjyaku was in flower in this morning.

This one was propagated from seed which was given by my freind and so I do not know the history of this cactus.

Hakujo (white lines) are very clean along the rib tops.

Cactus / myriostigma

 A matured Astrophytum myriostigma v nudum cv kikko, khoyo was in flower.

It is the oldest myriostigma in my place.

Many scars made by insect attack can give you a hit of age.

Cactus ruri kabuto

 An astrophytum asterias cv oibi ruri kabuto was in flower yesterday.

The body colour was ruri but it turned to a pale colour as shown on the photo.

I am not sure the reason but I hope the body colour returned to original colour some day.

Cactus / super kabuto

 4 matured Astrophytum asterias cv super kabutos were in flower yesterday.

The photo is one of them, 15 cm in diameter.

The body is a typical starfish shape. The fower of asterias in autumn is quite small.

A matured Astrophytum asterias was in flower yesterday.

The cactus shows the character of hanazono which character started to be shown when the cactus reached to a mature age.

The cactus is 15 cm in diameter.

Cactus / Astrophytum hybrid

 3 astrophytum hybrids, capricorn x red flowering asterias were in flower yesterday.

One of them was an abnormal flower.

This cactus made normal flowers several times in this season and so I am not sure the reason of the abnormal flower.

Cactus / ritteri

 A grafted small Aztekium ritteri was in flower yesterday.

I grafted a small off-set onto a Pereskiopsis stock in December 2020.

It is still very small, just 2cm in diameter but I may degraft it in September this year.
