Cactus / kotschoubeyanus seedlings

This is an Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus seedling, sown seeds in 2006 as same as agavoides which was in the post yesterday.
Small types Ariocarpus get flowers relatively early ages. This plant started to be in flower 3 years ago.
The flower is normal size but it seems very large because the plant is so small.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus f Rio Verde

This is Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus f Rio Verde.
I grafted a young seedling on a Preskiopsis stock 2 years ago.
I degrafted with a short Pereskiopsis stock last spring.
I expect the scion relies on roots from the Pereskiopsis initially but own roots catch them up later. This is one of trials used Pereskiopsis grafting stock.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

This is an Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus.

It is under rooting but it seems all right bucause of these flowering.
I hope this plant survived continously and developed own roots.

Cactus / crysacanthus

This is a Ferocactus crysacanthus v rubispinus.
I bought seeds in 2002 and grafted young seedlings on Hylocereus stocks.
The scion was degrafted later. Because of kept in the greenhouse, spines were very poor and I moved plant out form the greenhouse to my begepatch two years ago.
The appearance has been changed significantly. It looks like a habitat plant currently.

This plant is an Astrophytum F1 hybrid, coahuilense x asterias cv super kabuto. Both plants coahuilense and asterias have yellow color, orange throat flowers and they can cross very easily.
The shape of body is similar to coahuilense and body pattern is similar to super kabuto.

when the plant was small, the appearance was as same as normal one.
Since it was in flower out of season, numbers of lower was just 1.
I expect more flowers in next spring.

Cactus / asterias

It is hard to get true red color flower of asterias.
You can see sometime true red color one but it is a dwaf plant normally because of a frequent crossing.
This plant is a red flower desent asterias.
The body size is relatively large.

Cactus / retusus v major cv Daruma Royal

This plant also has been propagated from seed.

Cactus / Ariocarpus hybrid

This is a F1 Ariocarpus hybrid, kotschoubeyanus x bravoanus v hintonii.
I crossed these plants in 2008,and collect seeds in 2009.
I sowed seeds on 07/10/09 and grafted very young seedlings, 2 days after germination. Small type Ariocarpus will be in flower very early. It will be in flower in autumn when you grafted in spring if a seedling was grafted.
Own-root seedlings need 5 years at least from sown seeds to flowering.

Cactus / fissuratus

Two Ariocarpus fissuratus was in flower yesterday.
The photo is one of them, grafted on an Echinopsis stock.
I crossed to an other. I assume I would seeds next Sptember or so.
The degrafting of fissuratus is difficult. If you cut a part of the body, liquid is running down and hard to stop.
