Cactus / red flowering asterias

 A young Astrophytum asterias cv red flowering asterias was in flower yesterday.

The flower colour is so nice but the body size is so small.

I think it can not gain body size more, 6 cm in diameter currently.

Cactus / kikkou super kabuto

 An astrophytum asterias cv kikkou super kabuto was in flower yesterday.

Also both parents were normal super kabutos, this one has turned to kikkou form.

The current size is 15 cm in diameter.

Cactus / trigonus

 A degrafted Ariocarpus trigonus was in flower.

A short Pereskiopsis stock is attached still on the bottom of the cactus. The cactus rely on the stock currently.

The flower of trigonus release a good scent.

Cactus / cauliflower

 It is still hot but Ariocarpus species have started to be in flower.

The photo is a young Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri cauliflower.

The cactus has just showing the character of cultivar.

Cactus / kotschoubeyanus

 The maximum temperature reached to 38 'C yesterday afternoon.

It is too early for Ariocarpus flowering but a kotschoubeyanus v elephantideus was in flower.

This variant has darker flower colour than that of standard one.

Cactus / miracle kabuto

 A matured miracle kabuto which is the largest asterias in my place was in flower.

Asterias is in flower several times between spring and autumn.

Seed was sown in 2004.

Cactus / asterias

Yesterday was a good sunshine day. I could see several asterias flowers in the afternoon.

The photo is one of them, a matured asterias.

It is around 17 cm in diameter.

 

Cactus / horizonthalonius

 An echinocactus horizonthalonius v moelleri was in flower.

Since the cactus is accommodated in a greenhouse, spines are thinner.

I may move it out from the greenhouse in future.

Cactus / super kabuto

 A matured astrophytum asterias cv super kabuto was in flower.

All flowers have come out from rib-bottoms as similar to hanazono kabuto.
